Primary Functions of Russell County Building Inspection Department:

Review all residential and commercial plans of new construction and/ or alterations to an existing structure for code compliance. Business license enforcement for general contractors. Issue permits for building, electrical, plumbing, gas fitting, HVAC / mechanical, swimming pools, demolition, signs, and home / mobile home moving Perform field inspections on permits to ensure code compliance, Issue Certificates of Occupancy.
