Old Seale Courthouse

The history of the  Old Seale Courthouse is that Seale and Phenix City were dual Russell County seats from 1926 until 1934, when Phenix City became the sole county seat. The former courthouse in Seale has since served as a school gymnasium and a meeting place and today serves as a natural history museum.

Historic Tuckabatchee Masonic Lodge

In 2012, a beautiful historic lodge in Russell County appeared doomed. The 1848 Tuckabatchee Masonic Lodge was listed on the Alabama Historic Commission’s Places in Peril that year and seemed on the verge of collapse or demolition. Today, the building has been restored to its original state and serves as a public venue and park for the community of Crawford.
